We spent the day Saturday at the Loch Norman Highland Games, an annual Scottish Heritage Fesitval head nearby. The weather was beautiful, and we had such a great time! This was our first trip as a family to this particular event, but was the quentessential Saturday outing in my eyes. The weather was insanely beautiful – I was able to dig out shorts and a sleeveless top (meaning that a slight sunburn ensued), and the sky was bright blue with wispy streaks of clouds – my favorite.
Because of our fun-filled day, I am behind on my list of things to do, so I’m summarizing our weekend in photos & 150 words or less. Here we go!

S. loved every minute of it, especially watching the battle ax throwing & archery competitions…

Learned about bayonetts & buccaneers…
(Did you know that buccaneer means “one who smokes meat” ie, bacon? We learned all kinds of interesting facts from the historical reinactments!)

And listened to a group of 150 bagpipers play “Amazing Grace.” It was beautiful!
